Ep. 1: 5 Things I’d Do to Balance My Hormones & Clear My Acne in 2025

If I had to start all over again — if my skin suddenly started breaking out today — these are the exact five things I’d do to balance my hormones and clear my acne for good.

Because here’s the truth:

👉🏽 You cannot balance your hormones by doing the same things that imbalanced them in the first place.

So whether you’re dealing with PCOS, thyroid issues, endometriosis, high cortisol, or just that “nothing seems to work anymore” kind of acne… these are the five things I’d focus on to finally get results in 2025.

1. I’d Simplify My Skincare Routine — and Stop Switching Products Every Month

When I first started breaking out, I did what every woman does: I ran to Sephora.

I tried every brand under the sun — salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, “miracle” serums — until my bathroom looked like a mini med spa.

Then I upgraded to medical-grade skincare, thinking the price tag meant it had to work. I was spending $750+ a month on products that barely made a dent in my breakouts.

Here’s what I know now:

Your acne isn’t caused by a product you’re missing — it’s caused by an imbalance inside your body.

Skincare CAN support your skin barrier, but it can’t heal inflammation, hormone imbalances, or digestive issues.

So if I were starting over, my routine would be simple:

  • A gentle cleanser (with or without salicylic acid depending on how oily my skin is)
  • A hydrating toner or essence (don’t care if you have oily skin or not, get one!)
  • A moisturizer
  • Sunscreen

That’s it. No constant switching. No “purging” excuses. Just consistency.

Because the real healing happens underneath your skin.

2. I’d Focus on Eating Enough (Especially Protein + Fiber)

Here’s a tough truth: most women struggling with acne aren’t eating enough.

Not enough calories.

Not enough protein.

And definitely not enough fiber to support healthy hormones and digestion.

Your metabolism — the engine that keeps your body running — depends on you eating enough to fuel it.

When you undereat, your body shifts into survival mode:

  • Your thyroid slows down
  • Your cortisol spikes
  • Your digestion weakens
  • Your skin becomes the outlet for inflammation

This is why chronic dieting, skipping meals, or eating “clean” but barely enough to sustain your energy always backfires.

You don’t need to eat perfectly at every meal — you just need to eat enough over time.

That means aiming for protein, fat, and fiber at most meals to keep your blood sugar stable and your hormones happy.

Because when your metabolism is supported, your hormones finally have what they need to stay balanced — and your skin reflects that.

3. I’d Prioritize Minerals Every Single Day

If you’ve been here for a while, you already know what I’m about to say:

Minerals are the missing link in almost EVERY acne journey.

They’re the spark plugs for your cells — the raw materials your body uses to make hormones, manage stress, detox efficiently, and maintain clear, glowing skin.

But stress, restrictive diets, caffeine, and processed food all deplete your minerals faster than you can replace them.

So in 2025?

I’d make minerals non-negotiable.

Here’s how I’d do it:

  • Drink one mineral mocktail a day (with magnesium, potassium, sodium, and calcium).
  • Eat more mineral-rich foods like avocado, citrus, leafy greens, grass-fed beef, and yes — kiwis (they actually have more potassium than bananas).
  • Add trace minerals or electrolytes to my water if I’m sweating, stressed, or drinking caffeine.

Minerals are step one for healing your metabolism, balancing hormones, and improving skin — no detoxes required.

4. I’d Take Stress Seriously (and Set Real Boundaries)

You can’t heal your hormones if you’re constantly in fight-or-flight.

You just can’t.

Stress depletes minerals, slows digestion, disrupts your cycle, and tanks your progesterone — the hormone that keeps your skin calm, your mood stable, and your periods predictable.

So instead of just saying “I need to manage stress,” I’d actually do something about it:

  • Make a list of everything stressing me out
  • Separate what I can control from what I can’t
  • Set boundaries to protect my peace (no answering emails during lunch, no work after 7PM, etc.)
  • Get outside daily — even if it’s just 10 minutes of sunlight and fresh air

Because healing isn’t just about what you eat or take. It’s about giving your body permission to feel safe again.

You can’t heal when your body thinks it’s constantly in danger.

5. I’d Stop Guessing — and Get Functional Lab Testing

If I could go back in time and save myself years of frustration, this would be it.

I would have skipped the guessing, skipped the supplement overwhelm, and gone straight to testing.

Because standard bloodwork can only tell you what’s normal, not what’s optimal.

And “normal” is the reason most women are still tired, bloated, and breaking out even when their doctor says everything looks fine.

Functional lab testing looks deeper. It shows you:

  • How stressed your body actually is
  • What infections, imbalances, or nutrient deficiencies are happening in your gut
  • Whether your hormones are high, low, or completely burned out
  • What minerals your body is missing (and which ones are too high)

Inside my program, The Hormonal Acne Reset Method™, I use the GI-Map and HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis) to uncover the exact reasons your skin won’t clear — so you can stop guessing and start healing with data, not diets.

The Bottom Line

You can’t heal your acne with the same strategies that caused it.

That means…

❌ No more overcomplicated skincare routines.

❌ No more under-eating or restrictive diets.

❌ No more ignoring stress until it shows up on your face.

❌ No more guessing what your body needs.

Your skin isn’t the enemy.
It’s the messenger.

And when you learn to listen — with nourishment, minerals, boundaries, and testing — your body finally feels safe enough to heal.
